Common LG Repair Issues
The LG Linear Compressor has been the subject of a class-action settlement due to widespread failures in refrigerators manufactured between 2014 and 2020. The linear compressor uses a single piston that moves in a straight line rather than a rotary motion, which reduces friction and noise. However, many of these compressors develop internal failures that cause the refrigerator to stop cooling entirely. Symptoms include a clicking sound from the rear of the unit followed by the compressor shutting off. LG extended the compressor warranty on affected models, but many Denver homeowners still need service to diagnose and replace the failed component.
LG front-load washers with the Direct Drive motor are known for long-term reliability, but the tub bearings and seal assembly do wear out over time, typically after seven to ten years of use. When the bearings fail, the washer produces a loud rumbling noise during the spin cycle, and water may leak from the rear of the unit. The bearing replacement on LG washers requires removing the entire rear tub panel, pressing out the old bearing races, and installing new ones. We carry the correct bearing and seal kits for the most common LG washer models.
LG dishwashers occasionally develop problems with the drain pump or the wash motor. Error code OE indicates a drainage failure, which may be caused by a blocked drain hose, a defective pump, or debris in the sump area. The QuadWash spray arms can also lose effectiveness if the nozzles become clogged with mineral deposits from Denver's hard water supply. We clean or replace the spray arms and descale internal components to restore full wash performance.
LG dryers, both gas and electric, may experience issues with the flow sense duct blockage indicator repeatedly triggering even after the vent has been cleaned. This is often related to the thermistor or the control board misreading airflow. On gas models, the dual gas valve coils can fail intermittently, producing heat on one cycle and none on the next. LG ranges with ProBake Convection may develop issues with the convection fan motor or the bake element, both of which we replace on-site.
